Video

Hello all my name is krishnak and welcome to my youtube channel.

So guys today in this particular video, I'm going to discuss how you can become a very good negotiator with respect to the salary that you will be asking the hr I'm going to discuss some of the very important points over here, because I've observed a lot of things with respect to this, because I've observed some of my subscribers, some of my juniors, some of my colleagues, you know, even though they are highly experienced they're, not just getting well paid, you know, because they did not negotiate with the hr in a proper way, even though they did wonderfully well in the interview.

So let me discuss about this.

Please make sure that you watch this video till the end because understand at the end of the day salary is very much important for everyone right? If you're getting well paid that is the best thing for you for your family for your savings and many more things now, considering this just understand one thing that whenever a requirement is coming in a specific company, right, uh.

So the requirement will be based on some numbers like suppose there's a requirement of four to five data scientists in a company right at a specific time.

So there is a requirement of some different kind of roles.

You know, with respect to full stack developer like that.

So in short, what I'm saying is that there will be requirements with respect to some specific numbers.

There are also scenarios where you'll just be requiring one data scientist or one full stack developer with with respect to any profile that I'm actually talking about.

Now, usually when there are requirements of so many profiles, right? And suppose the company needs to hire four to five people.

There will be on budget allocated to the hr right? There will be a budget allocated to the hr.

And this budget will be based on the number of people based on like what type of experience they are looking at suppose, uh, they they say to the hr we require five profiles, uh, two profiles will require between two to five years of experience.

Two more profile.

I will be requiring probably between five to seven years of experience, or there will be one more profile, which will be required with respect to more than seven plus years of experience.

So based on this, they will be providing one specific salary, and that salary will be combined.

The entire salary will be combined.

And that is basically the budget that is allocated to the hr right now based on that particular budget, the hr will always be negotiating with you.

You know, negotiating suppose they are there's.

There are some people who have cleared the interview that time the negotiation will happen.

Remember, whatever budget is allocated to you.

Obviously, the hr will be telling you some number based on your previous salary.

Your previous salary is also very much important.

Suppose if a person is getting hired, uh for two plus years of experience.

And if your previous salary somewhere around three point, lakh, four lakh, uh, rupees, inr.

So probably by default, the hr will say that will give you a 40 hike, and that will be the salary.

But remember with respect to the market with respect to the trend that is going with respect to the technology, you can also go up till 100 and again, whether the hr will approve or not that is based on the budget.

But yes, if you have cleared the interview very well, if if you are very much confident that, yes, I have done it absolutely fine, right? And if you go and say that, okay, I require this much at least 70 or 80 of hike.

I require that much okay that time the hr will also give a quick thought in discussing with the interviewer like based on how your interview has gone.

Well, or not if the interviewer says that yes, he's a good.

He has a lot of knowledge, and he has done.

Well, definitely the hr will give you that specific height.

Okay.

Now, this is the thing that is you that usually happens.

Guys.

Suppose if your interview is not performed, well, you have not performed well in the interview, you can definitely say the hr, okay, uh, you're, good with 40 or 50 percent, or you can slightly negotiate it on top of that.

Whatever the hr is basically giving.

But if you have done the interview very very well, you can definitely negotiate it and you'll.

You can go till 50 to 70 or 80 percent.

I've also seen some of my subscribers.

Some of my juniors were gone to 120 hike in the initial career stage.

Um, when I got my first first machine, learning engineer jobs, I got 90 hype guys.

My initial salary was somewhere around 3.25 lakhs.

You know when I was a fresher after working, uh for one year, one and a half year, you know, my hike was just 200 rupees per month.

Okay.

So that pissed me off.

So I wanted to switch off.

And in the next salary that I got, I got somewhere around 6, lakhs rupees, inr as a machine learning engineer, right? So that was how I made a transition.

I was pretty much happy with 100 high.

And at that time, I also negotiated I negotiated in a way because I knew how my interview went.

Well, right, I did very well in the interview.

And initially the hr gave me they told, okay, we can give you 5.5 lakhs.

But I said, no, I require another 50 000 more.

I want to make it as 100 high because that was my first career transition.

And I knew that I had done well in the interview right.

So my hike became six lakhs rupees that that was in short approximately near more than ninety five percent high, which which I was pretty much happy.

And based on this, there will also be a budget allocated.

Remember, okay, there is the budget actually allocated.

And that budget is basically defined with respect to four to five people based on the number of openings in that specific company.

Yes, if there is a budget remaining for you, the hike can go again, more than 100 more than 100.

Also if you are a good negotiator, you need to understand what that specific company wants, whether you did the interview well or not you should also explore about that particular company with respect to the salaries that they are giving.

This is the way that you should think about that.

You should try to read the hr mind guys that is very much important.

And hr are pretty cool negotiator.

You cannot negotiate much they'll catch you they'll this just.

And I've seen also some of the people, uh.

So for the first time, when the person is making a transition, whatever hike, uh, you know, uh, whatever hike hr will give you suppose the hr gives you 40 to 45 percent.

The person will take he'll, not negotiate and start looking for another job.

As soon as he gets another job, probably over there, he'll say that I already have an offer.

So what do you offer me right? And over there they'll give you like 60 percent hike then again, considering the 60 heck that person will go to the first company and say that there I've got 60 hike what you will give right there again, they'll ask and they'll.

Finally, get 100 hack and they'll go over there right now, like this kind of things will actually happen.

But uh, what I feel is that if you have done this in your initial stage career of your life, it's, fine don't, do it in the later stage of life in my first career job.

I think I have done this one time after that.

I I never I've never done this, because I feel that this was not good at all because understand, uh, the company will be waiting for you for around two to three months, right? Uh.

The first notice period for me was three months.

And suddenly near three months, you'll say that no, I've got an offer from other company, tell me what what what salary can you give, you know, or can you increment my salary.

So this is not a good practice at all, uh, if you have done in the initial career to just increase yourself that is well and good.

But when you become experienced never do that, you know, negotiate with the hr in a proper way, tell them that, yes, you deserve this.

You have done well in the interview okay, and obviously whatever salary the hr will tell you they can at least go above, you know, 20 30 percent they can go above understand because there will be a budget allocated.

Suppose, uh, my salary was somewhere around 3.5, lakhs.

Okay, if I'm making a switch, the child will say that okay, I'll give you somewhere around 5.5 lakh.

Suppose I'm just giving an example, trust me in that particular salary.

It can also go till 6.5 or 7, lakhs, okay, because that will be the budget.

You know, it can go it's just like confidence, interval plus 10, minus 10 percent like that right.

So just be a good negotiator guys.

You can definitely do it.

You can definitely get that specific salary and trust me if you don't deserve that if you have not done the interview well, don't ask for don't don't, ask for more salary, what with whatever you have got be happy with that.

And if you have performed well in the interview, and if you feel that you deserve better than this, you should definitely ask for that right.

But understand this is all budget allocated right? If there is a person who's only suppose there is only one opening for a company again.

There also they'll say that, okay, if that particular person is for three years experience requirement, the salary may be ranging between six three six to nine lakhs rupees, iona and between that that hr will give you a place like suppose she she or he will say somewhere around 7.5 lakhs that time you can negotiate another 50 000 on the one lakh, but just understand there will always be a confidence interval.

And again, negotiating is the art.

Uh, if you are very much good in negotiating with your friends, you can also definitely negotiate with your hr also.

And sometimes you need to know all this particular idea, it will be very very helpful.

So I hope you like this particular video, please do subscribe the channel.

If you are not a subscriber I'll, see you in the next video have a great day ahead.

Thank you.
